Our Teachers’ Methodology

Our Teachers’ Methodology

If we teach today’s children as we taught yesterday’s then we rob them of tomorrow - John Dewey

A teacher’s methodology is an important aspect of the lesson. The learning-centered approaches followed at our school promote deep learning, foster meaningful interaction and guide learners through the acquisition of critical life skills. The instruction is based on various methodologies, depending upon the profile of our students. Teachers try to meet the needs of every student by showing flexibility in every possible way; adapting the methodology, personalizing the materials, changing the seating arrangement, tutoring and more.

CLIL, Communicative Language Teaching, Task and Project-based approaches are our preferred methodologies for engaging our students to meaningfully use the language both for communicating their ideas and for searching, creating and presenting their work. The ultimate goal is for them to start thinking in the second language (English), acquire critical life skills and develop their character traits (co-operation, integrity, respect, kindness, assertiveness, self-esteem).

The Use of Technology in the 21st-century classroom

Interactive boards, the internet as well as other tech tools are used by our students and teachers throughout the lesson for completing a task/project/presentation. Furthermore, we are gradually integrating into our curriculum the online classroom, an online platform, accessible from any internet -connected device. This tool facilitates the learning and teaching process, since it allows students to work on a task, review materials, submit their homework and exchange feedback with their instructor. At the same time, teachers can track the learners’ progress, provide extra guidelines and/or answer to their questions.
